Membership is open to persons 18 years of age or older, residents of St. Charles Parish and interested in the welfare of senior citizens. Membership is not required for citizens 60+ to participate in the services provided by the Council on Aging (COA). It is not necessary to renew membership each year.
There is no fee. Membership applications are available at all Senior Activity Centers, the Administration Office, and website www.stcharlescoa.com
Volunteers are needed to serve on Board of Directors and Advisory Council.
To serve on the Board of Directors volunteer needs some back ground with Finance and Personnel matters.
Board of Directors meet on the third Thursday of the month, Advisory Council meet on the third Wednesday of the month, and most Standing Committee meetings (Center Operations, Personnel, Transportation, and Finance) are held on Friday before Board of Directors meeting every other month beginning in August, others are on a as needed basis (Advisory Council Public Relations Development, Long Range Planning, Board Development, Advisory Council Nominating, and Advisory Council Assessment). All members are asked to serve on at least one committee.
