Power to Care assists eligible low income elderly and disabled persons who are currently facing a serious health or financial emergency in paying electric bills.
Client Eligibility and Selectivity
An emergent need must exist (financial, medical, or other crisis situation). This is defined as an unexpected event that prevents the client from paying his/her utility bill.
Clients must be elderly head of household (sixty years of age or older) or Mentally/physically disabled, unable to work (proof of social security disability benefits is required as verification) or Have a disable dependent that requires full-time care, preventing the client from working (verification of disability is required).
The total income cannot exceed Federal Poverty
The individual applicant must be the responsible person for paying the bill, and the bill must be in the client’s name, unless it is the legal spouse/legal caregiver of the applicant.(NO EXCEPTIONS!)
Only Entergy customers will be considered for payment.
Client may receive $75 (up to eight times per fiscal year), not to exceed $600 Fiscal year is from October 1 - September 30.
