Client Eligibility and Selectivity

  • An emergent need must exist (financial, medical, or other crisis situation). This is defined as an unexpected event that prevents the client from paying his/her utility bill.

  • Clients must be elderly head of household (sixty years of age or older) or Mentally/physically disabled, unable to work (proof of social security disability benefits is required as verification) or Have a disable dependent that requires full-time care, preventing the client from working (verification of disability is required).

  • The total income cannot exceed Federal Poverty

  • The individual applicant must be the responsible person for paying the bill, and the bill must be in the client’s name, unless it is the legal spouse/legal caregiver of the applicant.(NO EXCEPTIONS!)

  • Only Entergy customers will be considered for payment.

  • Client may receive $75 (up to eight times per fiscal year), not to exceed $600 Fiscal year is from October 1 - September 30.
